Workforce Strategy

Building a Better Healthcare Hiring Process

Simple ways to run a consistent process for permanent clinical, administrative, and leadership hiring.

A hiring process works when every interviewer knows what to ask and the candidate knows what happens next.

Use one scorecard

Write the few required capabilities before interviews begin. Do not let every interviewer invent a new definition of the role.

Assign interview topics

Give each interviewer a purpose: technical experience, leadership examples, or the actual work environment.

Set feedback deadlines

Collect feedback after each interview stage and decide who has the final call. Delay is a decision candidates can see.

Review the process after the hire

Ask what caused friction, where the brief was unclear, and what should change before the next opening.
